And secondly, she’s sorry
We’re sorry for the person we became, for the doubts in our heads
For the lonely nights where we cursed your name yet all you ever did was hold us and sing us lullabies
You tucked our sorrow into bed and threw joy into our heads
We didn’t deserve this but there is no time for regrets when you’re drowning in a sea of grace
When the greatest artist of all time is holding you in his arms whispering my child, my child Come home!
Something in you begins to shift
And it’s the devil trembling
At the voice of our God
and you never intended to move but suddenly you find your feet sprinting in full speed to the altar where you have no time to collapse to your knees before God swoons in and carries you to a world you never thought existed!
And he whispers to you My child, my child
And suddenly the girl with the pencil does not exist in the grey house anymore
And the girl with the guitar does not sit in the identical house alone
Because now
Because now
She is home
