5-21-16 Wonder

 •wonder•

Could you imagine seeing your favorite word?

It isn't just some scratches on a piece of paper or syllables rolling over your tongue like syrup dripping off a pancake

You can give it as a gift or hold it tight, warming your chest and breathing it into your lungs

In and out

In and out

Wonder is a word tattooed into my brain

I long to hold wonder in my arms as it slowly slips and flys away like birds fleeing to the south

To climb wonder

Scaling the tallest mountain trying to reach the top before the sun captures the horizon

Run to wonder

Scraping my knees on bushes and digging my feet into the dark mud

Feeling the dew on the tall grass spray my eyes

Dance to wonder

Tripping over my own feet spinning in a continuous circle as my hair covers my face like a tent

Sing to wonder

My "scratchy side of the sponge on a plate" voice

Off key but unable to control my own rhythm and vibrations

Wrap my self in wonder

Jumping into a clear ocean so vast and deep you can't keep yourself above the waves

Consumed, devoured, absorbed until you can't breath

Feel wonder

Like touching air, light, free and fresh

Swooping across the painted clouds

Could you imagine seeing your favorite word?

But you already have
