9-25-16 Stillness
•stillness•
And then everything stopped
Like a dime hitting the kitchen table
After instances of spinning on the cracked wood
A sudden drop of momentum and then silence
Walking past unblinking eyes
But only for a moment
Just one single moment
Everything is still and the air is holding its breath
These are the things we hold onto
The things we try to forget but the feeling of stillness is unforgettable
Almost haunting
But time and moments do not elope
The ticking of the clock on the dining room wall drives me insane
I want to stay in this stillness
In this space
I can't go back to those distant moments
But I can go back to that feeling
The air has started breathing
