10-10-16 Charge

 •Charge•

Do you ever have that moment where it seems like the world is flipping upside down

When trees no longer grow leaves

When you can't see the sun passing over your head every morning

the night is cold and damp

When your bed no longer feels like home

No matter how hard you try you can never get your hair to look right

That your face is a weird shape and your hips are too small

It's just too dark in every room you walk in

Or too quiet

Like there's no gravity at all

We're just floating in our own atmosphere but we can't breathe

The mirrors are smashed

Your clothes are dirty

The kitchen floor is sticky

The living room is full of strangers

The dining room is always empty

The bedrooms are quiet

The porch light is always on

When everything is as it shouldn't be

I took my bike and charged into something that wasn't there

The cold didn't hurt but my fingers were screaming for warmth

My face burning and heart racing

There was no car in the driveway

I thought I'd be okay

But I was all alone

These are the moments that bring clarity

I have to stop running

The world is not on my side of the team today

But tomorrow will be a different playing field

However

The stars were hung in the sky for all of us to observe

The trees were left bare for us to climb

At least we have a bed to rest our head in

At least we have a body to stuff our personalities in

A body and mind so wonderfully made how could you deny your beauty

How could you strike yourself down for having small hips and goofy hair

At least you're different

Stop running away from what you have to face

You aren't alone

Someone is holding your hand

You might not be able to see but you can feel it

A tight grip saying "I'll never let go, you're never alone"

And you believe it

Walking straight into your own disaster

Ready to face the music

But you aren't alone

You never were alone

In all these moments of clarity

Someone is holding your hand
